Summary: Hebrew i18n effort
launched
Project: Mambo Hebrew i18n (4.5/4.6)
The projects will include translating the software to the hebrew language, which is usually the easy part, and then converting the software to work in RTL mode (Right to left) which is the more difficult part.
keep in mind that the MosForge.net entry aims to standardize the
internationalization effort, and create files and scripts that are separate from
the core MamboOS. I'm also working on 4.6 and as soon as something starts moving
with 5.0, I will do that as well. I also want to create hebrew documentation
with screen shots, and step by step instructions. Something you can print and
give people who have absolutely no technical knowledge. The key words here are
"standard" and "organized" :-)

Skaag,
Your message is over 3 months old and I hope you get some indication of this followup.
I posted 'yet another hebrew mambo site' message yesterday. The point is that the inactivity of this forum and hebrew effort says something!
We aim to develop a healthy and active community for hebrew and rtl issues in mambo. I personally beleive that this won't happen in mamboforge. If there is any hope for such a community it will most likely be through a hebrew speaking site.
There are quite a few mambo 'islands' springing up in Israel, mambo is becoming quite well known and more and more popular. Trouble is that there is no coordination or contact between the 'islands'. Also the entire concept of OPEN SOURCE is a bit foreign to the young and individualistic Israeli developers.
This is what we are out to try and change. Not a small challenge! This is the purpose and mission of mambo.co.il - please pay us a visit.
If we make headway and get the hebrew mambo community into action we will of course feedback and enrich the general mambo community with whatever we can get the local community to contribute.
Keen to hear your input on this.
David
